Editorial Standards

RefiMyAuto.net is owned and operated by NerdGen, LLC. We publish guides, lender reviews, and tools about auto loan refinancing. This page explains how that content gets made, what our ratings mean, and what to do if we get something wrong.

How we research

Every factual claim we publish is checked against a source we can name: lender websites and disclosures, loan paperwork, regulator publications (CFPB, FTC), and documented borrower feedback on platforms like Trustpilot and the Better Business Bureau. When we describe how a lender’s process works, we prefer primary sources — the lender’s own published terms — over secondhand summaries. When we can’t verify something, we either say so or leave it out.

We also operate a refinance matching service. That gives us something most reviewers don’t have: direct, ongoing experience sending real borrowers to the lenders we write about, and seeing how those applications are handled. Where our own observations inform a page, we say so in plain language.

How we rate lenders

Lender ratings are on a 5-point scale, set by our author based on: rate and fee transparency, the application and funding process, credit and vehicle requirements, how the lender handles borrowers after approval, and the pattern of real borrower feedback. Ratings are opinions — ours — but they are built from the evidence above, and the review always shows you that evidence so you can disagree with us.

Compensation does not set ratings. Some lenders we review pay us referral fees and some don’t; the rating methodology is the same either way, and our reviews include the drawbacks and complaint patterns a marketing page would leave out.

How we use AI

We use AI tools to help draft and edit our content. Every page is then researched, fact-checked, edited, and approved by our author before it is published, and every factual claim is verified against the source it cites. First-person experiences described on this site are real experiences of the author — AI never invents them.

How we make money

RefiMyAuto is free for readers. We earn referral fees when you check your rate or connect with a lender through our links. That relationship is disclosed on every page where it applies, and it never changes the rates you’re offered. Full details are in our advertiser disclosure.

How we keep pages current

Pages that carry time-sensitive facts — lender comparisons and reviews — are re-verified on a monthly cycle. We update the “updated” date on a page only when its content has actually changed, never to look fresh.

Corrections

If we’ve published something inaccurate, we want to know. Email info@nerdgen.io with the page and the issue. We correct errors promptly, and material corrections are noted on the page.
